Voodoo Fishin' Junk and Trash: Keep, Sell, or Clear

Edited

Sell Voodoo Fishin' junk at Rusty Remy’s Junk Shop, not the Fish Monger. Keep a piece if you need it for a documented enchantment or to feed an Enchanted Campfire. Extra rods, reels and bait belong at the Pawn Shop. Check the item category before treating everything in your cooler as disposable trash.

June–October 2026 developer rules. No complete junk catalogue, per-depth drop table or current sale-price formula is claimed. Sources and scope.

Separate junk, fish and spare tackle

Junk was moved to Rusty Remy’s shop in the June 11 update. The Fish Monger no longer buys it. Remy’s raft buys and sells the non-fish junk involved in that update; this does not mean he replaced the later Pawn Shop as a buyer for rods, reels and bait.

A floating loot container is another category again. The developer’s loot-crate system uses the Grappling Hook Bait to snag floating crates; finding a container is not the same as catching a junk ingredient. This page does not turn every object on the water into a saleable item.

Decide whether to sell, save or use it

Use the Journal’s recipe requirement before selling an ingredient you intend to use. The developer changed Enchanted Spooky Inker to use Raggad Dolly in June, so an old Cinder Block recipe is not a safe reason to keep or spend the wrong object. The documented recipe pairs keep that correction beside the ingredients.

Skulls have a separately documented use: combining one with a rod or reel gives a one-time loss-prevention enchantment. Junk can also feed an Enchanted Campfire to keep it burning. These are concrete reasons to keep an item; this guide does not label every piece essential.

To clear ordinary unwanted junk for cash, take it to Remy. To clear spare tackle, sell it to Delores. While holding a cooler, C lets you select and remove an item. Avoid the Cooler Respawn action when you only want to remove one object, because it empties the box.

Choose by the item’s known purpose.

What repeated junk catches actually tell you

Since the June overhaul, junk has depth preferences and no bait preferences. Some junk can indicate the local habitat. That is narrower than a complete rule for avoiding junk or forcing a particular ingredient to appear.

The 1.0 release added more junk, but it did not publish a complete list or drop formula. Do not use an old bait-preference table as if it still explained junk selection, or assume that a scrap’s appearance proves the entire spot’s tag set.
