THE INDEPENDENT FIELD GUIDE

Voodoo Fishin' Voodoo Fish and Catch Requirements

Edited

To target a Voodoo fish in Voodoo Fishin', use the Voodoo Fish Journal entry, a suitable Voodoo-tier enchanted bait and a reel covering that target’s depth. Habitat, depth and bait preference are separate checks. The six documented targets below have distinct clues; Enchanted Avocado is specifically confirmed for Voodoo Puglet. A landed fish’s name and Voodoo rarity label confirm the result, rather than a purple glow or a similar ordinary fish.

Six named targets documented in Sam’s April Journal transcription and f0xy’s June original catch screenshots. Depth examples are attributed to those records, not a complete current spawn database. Release additions and the August fish-population change are considered; no guaranteed coordinates, catch rate or firsthand catch test is asserted. Sources and scope.

The table preserves the names in the original player records. Preference tags are attraction clues; the developer does not require every tag to match perfectly. A named environment is not the same field as a Top, Pelagic or Bottom reel setting.

Sam’s transcription and f0xy’s recorded depth examples overlap, but are not identical: the June examples establish a successful depth, rather than proving all other layers impossible. For Betta and Nautalina, the table gives the narrower actual catch example and states the additional layer listed in the older transcription.

Documented target clues and successful depth examples. Use your selected in-game entry for changes; this is not a count of every fish in the release.

Prepare for one exact target

Choose the named target in the Voodoo Fish part of the Journal. Compare its habitat clue with the place you intend to fish, then choose a reel covering its listed water layer. For a Bottom example, a Top-only reel is a mismatch even if the scenery looks rocky.

Prepare an appropriate enchanted bait using the documented recipe pairs and procedure. Enchanted Avocado has direct developer support for Puglet. For other targets, compare the actual bait tier and properties with that fish’s Journal entry rather than assigning it an arbitrary recipe from a general enchantment list.

The August population update says each Dock has at least one of every species somewhere in the world. It does not promise that any matching patch contains the exact variant you want. Try other suitable spots instead of converting one player’s photograph into a permanent spawn coordinate.

The 1.0 announcement adds 12 fish across Flattus Lopsidedus and Murkus Squintii. It does not supply Voodoo-target conditions for each new variant. They are not silently added to this six-target reference under invented names or bait rules.

Check the landed fish’s name and rarity

f0xy’s original guide includes a held-catch result for each of the six named targets, with the fish name and Voodoo rarity shown on the result card. Those actual images were inspected for this reference. They establish that player’s recorded outcomes, not this site’s own catches or a guaranteed result from copying the scenery.

After landing your fish, read its exact result name and rarity, then check the relevant Journal record. A bite, a failed fight or an ordinary fish from the same species family is not the target’s completed catch. Store the landed fish if you intend to bring it to a seller or a mission.

The weights visible in those player screenshots are individual examples. They do not establish a fixed size, sale price, record requirement or farming rate for your catch.

Correct one mismatch at a time

If you catch ordinary fish, recheck the bait’s actual enchantment and tier, but do not assume an enchantment always excludes everything else. The developer explicitly says Enchanted Avocado can catch other fish while being the bait capable of luring Puglet.

If the line breaks, separate the tackle and input problem from the habitat problem. Rod Strength and Rebound concern fighting the fish; the reel concerns the covered layer and available line. The casting, hookset and feedback guide gives those checks their own sequence.

If you die while visibly holding the rig, the equipped tackle can be lost. Check the same-session recovery options before leaving the lobby with an unresolved loss. A successful catch is only the end of the fishing task; returning a valuable haul safely is another decision.
